About Smile Train

Founded in 1999, Smile Train is the world's largest cleft lip and palate nonprofit organization, providing free corrective surgery for children with cleft lips and palates in 87 countries.

Why Counslr?

Burnout among U.S. workers—particularly in nonprofit and social work—poses significant mental health risks and productivity challenges. In extreme cases, employees may choose to leave their jobs altogether. This problem has only been exacerbated by the COVID pandemic in addition to the pre-existing attitudinal and structural barriers to care. With this in mind, Smile Train identified tremendous value in the Counslr App's ability to provide individuals with quick access to quality mental health support, helping to keep small issues small and hopefully reduce the likelihood of burnout.

“The organizational response at Smile Train to Counslr has been overwhelming. Our team has found Counslr easy to use and accessible to everyone. Our staff has been appreciative that as an organization we have provided a tool that makes mental health a priority every day. Providing the Counslr app has served as a wonderful complement to the other more-traditional mental health services we offer through our employee assistance program and health insurance.”
